About This Role

The Enugu State Electricity Regulatory Commission (EERC) is the independent regulatory agency established by the Enugu State Government pursuant to the Enugu State Electricity Law, 2023, with the mandate to regulate and oversee the State's electricity sector.

 

The Commission has recently assumed full regulatory authority over the Enugu electricity market. Consistent with its mandate to meet the state’s requirement for safe, adequate, and dependable electricity, the Commission is committed to promoting efficient market mechanisms and an investor-friendly and performance-driven sector.

 

To ensure the attainment of its mandate, the Commission is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead and strengthen its people and organizational capabilities in a dynamic regulatory environment as follows:

Position: Manager – Human Resources

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for EERC’s human resource function, as follows:

 

  • Leading end-to-end human resource operations of the Commission and ensuring optimal workforce capacity to deliver organizational goals/objectives
  • Driving organizational development initiatives and structure 
  • Leading the Commission’s workforce planning, talent acquisition, and recruitment processes 
  • Designing and implementing EERC staff development initiatives, training, and capacity-building programmes 
  • Managing employee performance systems and career progression frameworks in the Commission
  • Strengthening employee welfare programmes and relations 
  • Ensuring proper documentation, integrity, and confidentiality of employee records 
  • Overseeing compensation, benefits administration, and reward systems in the Commission.

Requirements & Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience: 

 

  • A First Degree in Human Resources, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or related field is required.

The following are added advantages: 

  • A master’s degree in a related field or HR Professional Certification.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in human resource management
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with individuals at all levels and from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proven ability to interpret data, conduct research, and generate actionable insights 
  • Minimum years of experience: 9 years of relevant work experience.
