PUBLIC NOTICE : CUSTOMER COMPENSATION UNDER ORDER NO. EERC/2026/002

The Enugu State Electricity Regulatory Commission (EERC) hereby informs the public of Order No. EERC/2026/002 dated 30 July 2026, directing MainPower Electricity Distribution Limited (MainPower) to compensate customers affected by its failure to meet service‑level obligations in February, March, and April 2026.

This directive follows the Commission’s extensive review of MainPower’s feeder performance across Enugu State, which established that sixty (60) feeders did not meet the minimum service thresholds required under the Service‑Based Tariff (SBT) framework over the three (3)- month period.

Accordingly, the Commission has directed MainPower to implement a one-off twenty-five percent (25%) compensation in energy units for all customers on the affected feeders for each affected month (February, March, and April 2026) within the stipulated implementation period of August to October 2026.

Customers may access the list of affected feeders and the corresponding compensation in energy units at: eerc.en.gov.ng/regulatory‑instruments/orders.

Customers who have not received the compensation within the stipulated time frame should report to the Commission through the designated service channels (info@eerc.en.gov.ng or +234 707 205 1569) or visit the Commission’s office at No. 2 Forest Close, Off Forest Crescent, Off Park Avenue, GRA, Enugu, Enugu State.
