Meeting with a team from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Cross River State

Yesterday, we were pleased to welcome a team from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Cross River State, for a learning visit to EERC. The delegation visited to study our regulatory framework and explore how our efforts in Enugu State could serve as a model.

Key points of discussion included:

• Ease of Doing Business: Ensuring investors feel confident in their return on investment (ROI).
• Enugu State Electricity Law (ESEL 2023): The Cross River team commended the progress made with ESEL 2023 and our Draft Regulations, which were published in August 2024. We also shared insights into the Enugu State Electricity Policy, brought to light in August 2023, which laid the groundwork for these achievements.
• Investor Engagement: We discussed how EERC intends to manage prospective investors ready to play in the energy sector, emphasising our transparent and open licensing process.
• The Cross River Team also shared their exciting plans to for Investors coming into the state to introduce solar power systems to the state.
• The visit was a valuable opportunity for knowledge exchange, and we look forward to future engagement and collaboration with Cross River State
