The Enugu Electricity Regulatory Commission (EERC NG) recently hosted the Plateau State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) on an official inter-regulatory capacity-building visit from Tuesday, 3rd to Thursday, 5th February 2026.

The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration, build institutional capacity, and facilitate knowledge transfer as Plateau State advances its regulatory oversight functions following the transfer of regulatory authority from the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), sequel to the Transition Order issued on 12 September 2025. Led by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Kaneng Gwom, the PSERC Commissioners participated in technical sessions, regulatory briefings, and hands-on interactions with EERC departments.

These engagements provided practical insights into licensing processes, tariff setting, regulatory compliance, consumer protection frameworks, and effective stakeholder engagement.

The visit underscores EERC’s commitment to working in partnership with peer sub-national regulators to exchange ideas, share experiences, strengthen accountability, and collectively drive the development of sustainable and efficient electricity markets in accordance with the Electricity Act 2023.
